Join in the fun as we turn a book into a play! You’ll be writing a script, planning some costume, set & props to be used and then-performing! Requires some homework/research outside of class.
Theatre Explorers For grades 2-5, no experience necessary April 16 - May 21, 6:00-7:00 pm. Instructor: Elsie Van Tassell. Tuition: $70. Min. 4 /Max. 14.
Interested in just trying it out? Want to feel more comfortable in front of people? Gain self-confidence while exploring performance through story-telling, public speaking, movement, and script work.
WEDNESDAYS: KINDERMUSIK: Family Time For ages 1 1/2 to 5 years old April 25 - May 23, 11:00-11:45 am OR 6:00 - 6:45 pm. Instructor: Anne Penefield of the Sparling Conservatory. Tuition: $70, plus Home kit $27. Min. 4/Max. 8. Parents participate with one or more of their children in learning music through play. Vocal and instrumental music, dance, theatre, and improvisation are all utilized in this program. Very flexible and can be catered to the needs of the families enrolled.
KINDERMUSIK For ages 1 1/2 to 3 years old April 25 - May 23, 2:30 –3:15 pm. Instructor: Anne Penefield of the Sparling Conservatory. Tuition: $70, plus Home kit $27. Min. 4/Max. 8. Parents participate with their child in activities such as singing, movement, and instrument playing. Kindermusik is a patent program that is child centered and supported by extensive research
Tell Me A Story Dramatic play for ages 4-7 & a significant adult April 25 - May 21, 4:00-5:00 pm. Instructor: Becky Weber-Johnson. Tuition: $70. Min. 4 /Max. 10.
Ideal for young children who enjoy listening to stories and telling tales of their own. Together, children and adults will investigate their favorite stories and characters through acting, story-telling, art, music, and props.
THURSDAYS: Musical Theatre Vocal Workshop 101 Vocal instruction for ages 12-18 April 19 - May 24, 6:00-7:30 pm. Instructor: Kay Sparling of the Sparling Conservatory. Tuition $120. Min. 5 /Max. 15. Each student will participate in group and individual instruction of essential techniques used to develop tone quality, range, projection, and diction, and will be assigned a solo that will be performed in a concert .
SATURDAYS: Clowning Around Clown comedy for ages 10 to adult. (Also open to youth ages 9 and under who enroll with an adult.) April 21 - May 19, 10:00-11:30 am. Instructor: Greg Roy. Tuition: $95, includes supplies. Min. 4 /Max. 12. Come learn to be a clown! Review the history and different types of clowning in order to develop your own clown personality with make up, costume, and props. The class culminates with a short performance.
